February 2018, Month 12 on Keto (low carb, high fat) Down 63.2 lbs (lost 10.3 lbs this month).
That’s more like it.
This month I had two-ish incidents of “cheating”.
1. On 2/15 I went out with some friends and had fondue. We had both cheese (with meats and carby dipping stuff) and chocolate fondue (with lots of fruit/dessert dippings) and chocolate covered strawberries. Despite this “cheat” I did not see a real gain after this (~1 lb) and quickly shrugged off the incident.
2. On Saturday 2/17 I attended the West Coast Culinary Symposium. I ate all the things. I wasn’t shy. This resulted in a 4.2 lb overnight gain. Not going to lie.. that was HUGE.. I suppose I could have made better choices.. but it’s hard to justify attending a food-focused event and not eat the food.
Despite these incidents I saw a loss of 10.3 lbs. Considering the fact I’ve been stalled for nearly four months (and gained for the last two) I think this is HUGE.
This month I experimented with 5:2 fasting. That is, for 5 days a week I stuck to my regular low-carb eating and then for 2 days a week (Mon and Thur) I skipped breakfast and lunch and ate only a normal-sized dinner. I suppose I should do a post detailing how I arrived at this decision. Noted. Look for it coming up.
This month I lost 0.5 inches off my neck, 1 inch off my waist, 0.5 inches off my hips, 1 inch off my thigh and 0.8 off my calf.
I kind of like the trend lines in the Fitbit app. Since I’m a daily recorder of my weight I end up with a very jaggy line. It’s cool to see the trend line which smooths out the line and shows actual trends. As far as I can tell the bumps on here correspond to the week before/during my period. Thanks, but no thanks, hormones.
