July Month 5 on #keto (low carb, high fat) Down 44.5 lbs (10.6 lbs this month).
I actually lost weight at West An Tir War over 4th of July weekend. I feel like I’m getting a pretty good handle on “eating while at event.”
This month I had three incidents of “cheating”/overeating. I made Keto Lasagna and “Death by Chocolate Cheesecake” as a late birthday celebration on 7/14 and ate WAY too much (the cheesecake was super good. The Lasagna was okay). I also had some breaded chicken and a bit of ice cream at Leatherby’s on 7/23, Lastly on 7/25 I craved ALL THE CARBS and ate some cookies and cornbread which had been left at our house from our pool party.
I’m starting to see a trend of craving ALL THE CARBS right at the end of the month when I’m just about to get a visit from Aunt Flo. I’ll need to watch that. Not sure what I can do to head that off. I might just add some sweet fat bombs around that time.
The last time I was this weight was July of 2011, 6 years ago. This was just after the last time I lost a bunch of weight..but before the stress of short-selling our house and then moving, and then moving again.
This month I lost 1 inch off my waist, 2.75 inches off my hips, and 2.25 inches off my upper thigh. Luckily I have a variety of “slightly too small” jeans to choose from. I’m just a bit miffed that I won’t be able to wear my newly purchased jeans anymore.
When I started on #keto I had an appointment with my Doctor to discuss the diet and to get her blessing on this. She referred to it as the “starvation diet”. More correctly I think it’s the “Autophagy Diet” (self-cannibalization diet). Anyway we did a blood test and she set it up so I could do another blood test every 3 months. Yesterday I took the second blood test. My Hemoglobin A1C went from 5.6% (which is what I’ve been at since 2012) to 5.3%. A1C between 5.7 and 6.4 percent is considered pre-diabetes. Over 7% is considered diabetic. Go me.
